EmailLabs Recognized as a Leader in Vendor Comparison of Email Service Providers to Small-to-Midsize Companies

Analyst Firm Places EmailLabs in Highest-Ranking Sector Based on Overall Business Value and Market Suitability

MENLO PARK, Calif. (Nov 2, 2006) -- EmailLabs, the leader in high-performance email marketing solutions and a subsidiary of J.L. Halsey (OTCBB:LYRI.OB), today announced that it ranks among the top email service providers in JupiterResearch's October 2006 "Constellation of ESPs with Small-to-Midsize Market Focus." The full report, "E-mail Marketing Buyer’s Guide, 2006," may be ordered at www.jupiterresearch.com.

EmailLabs – along with fellow J.L. Halsey subsidiary Lyris Technologies – is one of only four companies placed in the prestigious upper-right sector of the constellation, a placement indicating that compared to other vendors, EmailLabs has one of the highest levels of "overall business value" and "market suitability."

"EmailLabs is highly appropriate for publishers and business-to-business marketers," wrote David Daniels, vice president and research director, Jupiter Research, in the report.

"We are proud that an impartial, third-party analyst like JupiterResearch has confirmed our status as a top ESP for businesses with midsize marketing departments," said Jim Herbold, general manager, EmailLabs. "Our solution set is specifically designed to give midsize marketers everything they need to create relevant, deliverable messages that build relationships, drive sales and increase ROI."

With the release of EmailLabs 4.8 in August, the company introduced new features that help marketers minimize undeliverable or improperly formatted emails, create more effective messages based on contextually relevant best practices, offer RSS delivery to their subscribers, and uncover statistically significant variations in campaign performance – based on subscriber demographics and attributes.

These improvements contributed significantly to EmailLabs' strong showing.

Daniels wrote in the report, "EmailLabs introduced a number of new features and invested in back-end infrastructure improvements (e.g., MTA, databases). New features include complete integration with salesforce.com, including a tab in the salesforce.com application allowing users to control the EmailLabs application. Additional enhancements include RSS functionality, an improved analytic data store, and a list health meter to pinpoint hygiene issues."
