J.L. Halsey Announces Discount Program, First Joint Gathering of Subsidiaries at DMA06

ClickTracks, EmailLabs, Hot Banana, Lyris, Sparklist Convene, Offer Incentives for Sister-Company Clients to Try Their Tools

DMA06
Booth #5947

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Oct.16, 2006) — J.L. Halsey (OTCBB:LYRI.OB), a leading provider of marketing technology solutions to more than 10,000 clients through its subsidiary companies Lyris Technologies, EmailLabs, ClickTracks and Hot Banana, today announced the first-ever public gathering of all of its subsidiaries and a new, companywide discount program. The announcement was made at DMA06, the Direct Marketing Association convention, here through Oct. 19.

J.L. Halsey comprises four operating companies: ClickTracks Analytics, Inc. (www.clicktracks.com), EmailLabs (www.emaillabs.com), Hot Banana Software Inc. (www.hotbanana.com) and Lyris Technologies (www.lyris.com), which also owns the Sparklist brand (www.sparklist.com). All of the J.L. Halsey brands are demonstrating their award-winning solutions in Booth 5947.

The company acquired ClickTracks and Hot Banana in August, expanding its offerings beyond email marketing to also include Web content management and Web analytics — the three technologies small-to-midsize marketing teams rely on most.

"In only 18 months, J.L. Halsey has emerged as one of the leading providers of eMarketing technology solutions for marketers at middle-market companies," said David Burt, CEO, J.L. Halsey. "We are already making progress toward our ultimate goal: providing a complete, easy-to-use, integrated toolset that helps time-strapped marketers deliver greater ROI from their marketing spends —  with fewer tools to juggle."

To make it easier for the company's combined client list of more than 10,000 to add additional J.L. Halsey solutions to their marketing toolkits, each subsidiary is offering discounts of 10 to 20 percent to sister-company clients.

The joint presence at DMA06 and the coordinated discount program are but two signposts of expanding operational ties among the various subsidiaries. While all will continue to develop and market their discrete technology solutions, all are moving to identify and optimize elements of a common platform. Operationally, J.L. Halsey is moving to establish cross-subsidiary Centers of Excellence — leveraging people, processes, tools and technologies to spread innovations across the organization.

"By working together, we've already found ways to dramatically increase our efficiencies — which puts J.L. Halsey on the fast track to further enhancing our already groundbreaking tools," said Burt. "We're going down parallel paths to make each tool the best it can be, and at the same time, we're laying the groundwork for the new, state-of-the-art, integrated suite that we trust will become a must-have for mid-size marketers."
